MSI VR-Ready GTX10 Laptops Released

MSIGTX10LaptopsMSI today revealed breakthrough, Pascal GTX10 – powered gaming laptops at an exclusive event held in Metrowalk, Pasig, Philippines. Especially noticeable were the updated and redesigned GT83VR and GT73 Titan SLI, plus the slimmed down GS73VR and GS63VR Stealth Pro laptops, and from early looks into the specifications, all the laptops deserve the numerous descriptive nomenclature attached to their names.

Without going through all of the specifications (which will be covered in a future article), the two GT laptops boast of Core i7 6820HK processors capable of overclocking up to 4GHz. There’s 4 slots for RAM, occupied by (2) 8GB sticks of DDR4-2133 memory, and 2 M.2 sockets plus a 2.5″ SATA connector for storage. Connectivity is another headliner, with Thunderbolt 3, 5 USB 3.0 sockets (!) and mini HDMI all making an appearance in addition to the expected connectors.

A flattened GS63VR is amazingly slim

The two GS series laptops surprised with slimmer bodies and designs that were spiced up yet retained subtlety and clean lines. Core i7 67ooHQ processors reside in both models, and connectivity for both is excellent, with Thunderbolt also present in the pair along with generous helpings of USB 3.0 and standard connectors.

The most exciting line in these laptops’ specification list is the videocard; both GT laptops sport GTX 1080 videocards while the slimmer GS series has the GTX 1060 6GB. This release is a huge turning point for MSI and Nvidia, as the Pascal series of videocards for laptops offer performance very close to its desktop counterparts, bringing absolute performance to the mobile user.
