Even our humble market has its fair share of marketing effort going into it. Sony Philippines currently has a demonstration area set up at the first floor of the V-Mall Shopping Center in Greenhills, San Juan.
The area has a total of four test units available, with the sole requirement to try them out being completion of a short survey handed out by the booth guides. Once ready, anyone who wants to try out the units can choose between a couple of launch titles for the PSVR – Gunjack, VR Worlds, and Batman Arkham VR. VR Worlds, especially the Shark cage portion, proved popular, with gasps of surprise and high pitched noises coming from both male and female customers.
Official release date for the PSVR is October 13, with two SKUs seemingly available at launch – the head unit only, and the headset + PS Camera bundle. Current owners of the PS4 can use the PSVR without further modification, but anyone intending to try out PSVR will be better served by availing of the PS4 Pro, which Sony states will perform better than the standard PS4.
Regardless, for anyone who wants to try before buying, here’s your chance! The base PlayStation VR pack will cost P22,900, while the same bundled with the PlayStation Camera will costs P25,290.
