Zotac is celebrating its 10th birthday in apt fashion by releasing four premium products, one of which is the VR backpack PC you see here. Called the Zotac VR GO, it features more than adequate specifications such as a Core i5-6400T processor, 8GB of RAM, a 1TB mechanical hard drive partnered with a 120GB SSD, and Nvidia’s GTX 1070 videocard, all in a backpack form factor.
Naturally, its most important feature is this form factor, obviating the need to step carefully while your eyes are covered by a VR headset. Zotac designed the GO to take into consideration issues like proper cable management and positions of the connectors (HDMI and USB ports are located right on top of the unit). The GO has connectors aplenty – 3 HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort 1.3 ports, 6 USB 3.0 ports, as well as Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac WiFI, and Bluetooth 4.0.
The GO backpack also features a battery hot-swap system consisting of two 9000mAH batteries in series. There’s also neat dual battery LED meters for indicating power levels.
Zotac’s other releases include the GTX 1080 ArcticStorm Thermaltake 10 Year Anniversary Edition, a watercooled GTX 1080 created in collaboration with Thermaltake, the 10 Year Anniversary Edition MAGNUS EN1080 Mini PC, a tiny water-cooled PC with a GTX 1080, and the 10 Year Anniversary Edition SONIX SSD boasting of read speeds up to 2,800Mbps in an NVMe PCIe add-on card form factor.
